HCCMC Construction Workshop
Building Pathways to Opportunity
In 2025, The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Montgomery County (HCCMC) launched The HCCMC Construction Workshop, a bilingual hands-on, high-impact event designed to empower Latino and minority-owned construction businesses with the tools, knowledge, and connections they need to grow and compete in today’s marketplace. As Montgomery County continues to invest in public infrastructure and private development, The HCCMC Construction Workshop ensures that our local diverse contractors are not left behind—but instead equipped and positioned to lead.

Why The Construction Workshop Matters
Latino and minority-owned construction companies represent a vital and growing part of the regional economy, but they continue to face challenges such as:
- Limited access to bonding, financing, and insurance
- A lack of clarity on procurement processes and prequalification requirements
- Difficulties forming joint ventures or securing subcontractor opportunities
- Language and information barriers when navigating public contracts
- Minimal exposure to large prime contractors or government decision-makers

What The Workshop Offers
The workshop features sessions led by experts across sectors, focusing on practical and actionable guidance, including:
- How to get prequalified with Montgomery County agencies, bonding, insurance, and legal essentials for contractors
- Accessing capital and managing cash flow in the construction sector
- Workforce development and licensing pathways
- Best practices for winning government contracts
- Success stories from local minority-owned construction leaders
Attendees gain more than knowledge, they gain relationships, credibility, and momentum.

Strengthening Minority Contractors = Strengthening the Local Economy
At HCCMC, we believe inclusive growth starts with inclusion at the foundation. By supporting Hispanic and minority-owned construction businesses, we:
- Expand job creation in underserved communities
- Increase local wealth retention and reinvestment
- Build a more resilient and competitive regional supply chain
- Contribute to equity in public procurement
