On Wednesday, January 26th, we hosted a live conversation with Councilmember, Hans Riemer, candidate to County Executive in Montgomery County.
Hans Riemer was first elected to the Montgomery County Council in 2010 as an At-Large Member, representing the entire County. Hans has been leading the Council to enact new initiatives for economic development and small business, housing, education, and more. Hans co-authored legislation to create the County’s “Business Advancement Group,” a crucial resource for small businesses, and has championed the cause of small businesses in Wheaton which have been affected by construction projects there.
Hans has pushed for more funding for organizations such as the Maryland Small Business Development Center and the Latino Economic Development Center to provide business assistance. He is a strong voice for the County to become more competitive in creating jobs in the region in order to foster a stronger business environment for everyone. He also led the fight for 5G wireless, transportation investments on 270 and the American Legion Bridge, and numerous other economic development reforms.
