Colores Exhibit Opening
On Saturday, September 14th, we celebrated the opening of the “Colores” exhibit, bringing together art enthusiasts, community members, and local leaders for an unforgettable evening. This event, co-hosted by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Montgomery County (HCCMC), BlackRock Center for the Arts, and the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, showcased a vibrant array of artwork from five local artists from Montgomery County that not only captured the spirit of Hispanic culture but also highlighted the immense talent within our community.
We were honored to have an energetic crowd that not only admired the art but also had the unique opportunity to engage with the talented artists behind the works. The exhibit, expertly curated and installed by Joshua Gamma from BlackRock, created a magic space with its dynamic presentation and thoughtful selection of pieces.
Special guests for this event included Delegate David Fraser-Hidalgo, Council President Andrew Friedson, Council Vice President Kate Stewart, and Councilmember Marilyn Balcombe. Each of them expressed their admiration for the exceptional quality of the art and the significance of events like this in celebrating the diversity of our community.
The following artists participated in the Colores exhibit this year:
Rosana Azar – Argentina
Fausto Bayonet – Dominican Republic
Wendy Bonilla – El Salvador
Sandra Perez-Ramos – Puerto Rico
Roxana Rojas-Luzón – Peru
