Hispanic Leadership Awards Gala 2023

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Montgomery County (HCCMC) hosted the Hispanic Leadership Awards Gala on Thursday, October 12th, celebrating our 25th-anniversary and the conclusion of Hispanic Heritage Month. The evening was filled with gratitude and recognition, particularly honoring Jim McDonough, the visionary founder of the Chamber, whose impact was acknowledged through a heartfelt recognition presented to his wife and family.

The Gala also served as a platform to celebrate and highlight outstanding leaders in our community dedicated to improving Montgomery County. HCCMC proudly presented a series of well-deserved awards, recognizing excellence and commitment. Margarita Womack, the dynamic founder and CEO of Maspanadas, received the Hispanic Entrepreneur of the Year. Edwin Villegas, the innovative founder and CEO of Winmar Construction, was honored as the Hispanic Contractor of the Year. Additionally, Emma Perez, founder of La Limeña Grill, received the Hispanic Small Business of the Year. Eduardo Hayden, the Small Business Outreach Coordinator from the Governor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Owned Businesses, was celebrated as the Hispanic Leader in Government of the Year. The remarkable Lt. Kathy Estrada from the Montgomery County Police Department earned the distinction of Hispanic Leader in Public Services of the Year. Lastly, Barbara Escobar, the dedicated principal of Neelsville Middle School, was recognized as the Hispanic Educator of the Year.

The Gala was an unforgettable night of reflection, celebration, and a strong sense of community pride.
