A Journey into the Flavors and Spirit of Ron Cihuatán 🇸🇻🥃

What a unique experience at the Embassy of El Salvador, where we had the pleasure of discovering Ron Cihuatán, the only rum distilled in El Salvador. This premium spirit is more than a drink—it’s a tribute to heritage, with flavors and label designs inspired by the ancient Cihuatán tribe, a group of Mayans who once thrived in the northern region of the country.

A special highlight of the evening was meeting Gabriela Ayala, the talented master blender behind Ron Cihuatán, who has led the blending process since its inception in 2004. Though the brand was founded over two decades ago, its first bottle reached the public in 2015—an impressive journey of patience, craftsmanship, and pride.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ambassador Milena Mayorga for the invitation and warm hospitality. We’re excited to see Ron Cihuatán make its way into the hearts (and glasses) of rum lovers across the DMV!
