Hispanic Leadership Awards Gala 2024
The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Montgomery County (HCCMC) proudly hosted the Hispanic Leadership Awards Gala on Friday, October 11th, marking a highlight in our calendar and the conclusion of Hispanic Heritage Month. This year’s Gala was the best attended to date, with over 220 guests that joined our mission to elevate and empower our Hispanic community in Montgomery County.
The Gala recognized remarkable leaders who have made Montgomery County a better place to live and work:
Hispanic Entrepreneur of the Year: Matías Escobar, Founder & CEO of Argent Realty
Community Leader of the Year: Omar Mazo, President of the Wheaton & Kensington Chamber of Commerce
Hispanic Small Business of the Year: Guillermo Castillo, CEO of Electrical Connection, LLC
Hispanic Leader in Government: Miti Figueredo, Director of Montgomery Parks
Hispanic Leader in Public Service: Captain Juan Portillo, Commander of the Civil and Criminal Division of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office
Hispanic Educator of the Year: Vilma Nájera, Principal at Watkins Mill High School
